The Black Diamond Impulse 112 TI Skis make no pretense about being a "touring ski that handles the descent well," they're full on charger sticks meant for a freeride comp mindset (or actual freeride comps). They do have a notch for a tail strap, but at 2030 grams per ski in a 181 they're meant to rip the downhill - and if the uphill takes a bit longer, so be it. This is a full-strength, sandwich-sidewall construction ski with a sheet of Titanal in the layup to make scary speeds manageable and buyers who don't rip hard on it aren't getting their money's worth.
